Shipping Information

THE CORRECT PACKAGING FOR SHIPPING TO SWITZERLAND

Use sturdy boxes or shipping containers that can safely hold the contents. Make sure the boxes are in good condition and have no damage or labels from previous shipments. Fill the space within the box with suitable cushioning material such as bubble wrap, packing chips or padded inserts. The cushioning material protects the goods from impact and reduces the risk of damage during transport. If you are shipping multiple items, pack them individually before placing them in the shipping box. This prevents them from bumping into each other and becoming damaged during transport. Make sure the box is properly sealed to prevent accidental opening during shipping. Use high-quality packaging tape and thoroughly seal all openings and seams in the box.

SHIPPING SERVICE PROVIDER FOR SHIPPING TO SWITZERLAND

If you want to send parcels to Switzerland, the right choice as shipping partners are the postal companies or DPD and GLS or, for very urgent shipments, DHL and UPS. The good news is that with pakajo you can easily combine the different shipping service providers and shipping methods via your account and therefore send your packages extremely flexibly!

SHIPPING ORGANIZATION FOR SHIPPING TO SWITZERLAND

If you select the postal company as your shipping service, these shipments will be handed over to the state postal company in Switzerland, Swiss Post or SWISS POST. SWISS POST usually attempts delivery to the receiving address. If delivery is not successful, the shipment can be picked up at a branch. Delivery takes place from Monday to Friday. When shipping with a parcel or courier service provider, the recipients will be informed whether they can collect the packages from a parcel shop or a depot of the respective service provider.

The addressing of postal items in Switzerland corresponds to the European standard. PO box addresses (PO Box, Case postale, Casella postale) can only be delivered by SWISS POST. Otherwise we need a delivery address.

TRACKING

At Pakajo you can track your parcels in various ways. We show you how

TRACKING via the Pakajo site

As a partner of pakajo, you can follow the tracking via your shipment overview. To do this, log in to your dashboard and go to the shipment overview. There you will first see the shipments that you have sent within the last 14 days in a graphic. You can extend the preset period as you wish.

Click on the graphic to get to the overview. You can also enter your shipment number directly into the shipment tracking.

There you will be redirected to the page with the shipment details and can now see the status of your shipment. If your shipment is already on its way, you will also be shown the link for the respective shipping service and can track your shipment with the respective postal or parcel service.

Pakajo offers 3-in-1 tracking numbers

Pakajo Start Tracking

The pakajo tracking number "UPG-123456" is generated when the shipment is created. If desired, the recipient will receive a processing confirmation at the moment that their shipment is now being prepared for shipping. With the UPG number, the recipient can immediately track their shipment via the pakajo tracking page. Even for shipments without tracking, the recipient receives a processing and shipping confirmation.

Pakajo Final Tracking

As soon as the shipment has arrived at a pakajo shipping center, the shipment is confirmed in the pakajo system and receives a 9-digit "113456789" number.

Now the nine-digit number is married to the UPG number and all the necessary shipping information for the sender and the recipient is added to the shipment. The recipient now knows that his shipment is on the way to him.

Pakajo Shipping Tracking

When the shipment is processed, the final tracking number of the shipping service is now added to the shipment. The number often begins with LY or 0034, but this depends on the shipping service. As soon as the shipment has been recorded by the shipping service, a blue button from the postal and parcel service appears in the shipment tracking.

Track your shipments with aftership on the web or the app

You can also track your pakajo shipments at aftership. You can find pakajo as a shipping service in the aftership portal. The aftership app also offers very good shipment tracking, which informs you of every current shipping status. At aftership you can enter your pakajo tracking numbers as follows and track your shipments: UPG-123456 / UPG123456 or 123456. Of course, you can also track your shipments using the final tracking numbers of the respective shipping providers, such as Deutsche Post, DHL, DPD, Post NL, bpost and many others track.

NOTE: pakajo sends the recipients a delivery email that the shipment has been delivered or is ready for collection in the parcel shop!

Documents

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SHIPPING TO SWITZERLAND

CUSTOMS CONTENT DECLARATION

For international shipping outside the EU, a customs content declaration is of great importance. This declaration informs customs officials about the contents and value of the package. The information in the customs declaration is used to calculate the country-specific import sales taxes and customs duties, which then have to be paid by the recipient.

In order to make customs processing smooth, it is important to fill out the corresponding customs declaration CN 23 for parcel shipping outside the EU. Attach the document to the outside of your package in a shipping bag so that it is clearly visible. However, when shipping via a postal company, the customs declaration CN 22 must be used. The pakakjo shipment client creates this for you when you enter the shipping data in the system. In any case, the customs declaration for shipping to Switzerland should be attached to the address page of your shipment.

Please note that the customs declaration for shipping to Switzerland must be completed in English or a local language (German, Italian or French). This ensures smooth processing by the local customs authorities. Make sure that all details are correct and complete to avoid delays or problems with delivery.

COMMERCIAL INVOICE

If you are shipping with parcel or courier services such as DPD, GLS, UPS or DHL, you will also need a commercial invoice in English or local language. It informs the customs officials about your goods, the entire shipping process and you as the sender. Please attach the commercial invoice to the outside of your package in a shipping bag. The commercial invoice must be attached to the package in triplicate.

TIP: To be on the safe side, also include a commercial invoice in the package

CUSTOMS DUTIES & IMPORT VAT FOR SHIPPING TO SWITZERLAND

Before shipping to Switzerland, inform your customers that there will be costs for customs clearance and import sales tax. These costs will be collected by the recipient. Please note that the amount of costs always depends on the information in the customs declaration and can therefore vary greatly.

Depending on the value of your parcel shipment to Switzerland, you will need either form CN 22 or form CN 23 for the customs declaration. The limit here is around CHF 350.

Every customs declaration requires an HS code number. This usually consists of 6 or 8 numbers. Pakajo has stored the customs database in the system for you in 10 languages. When you enter the first few characters in the description field, you will get suggestions about content descriptions for your CN22/23. The customs tariff number is then automatically entered into the HS Code field.

A record is not called a vinyl record in customs German, but a sondern Rillentonträger. The HS code is 85221000 for onabnehmer & Rillentonträger. You must enter "Rillentonträger" in the customs database to get the result.

In any case, write out name until you get the optimum result. For example, if you just write “Rillen” you will get results for “apricots/apricots”.

CUSTOMS FORM FOR SHIPPING FROM THE EU TO SWITZERLAND

Shipment value up to approx. CHF 350 Value: Form CN 22 (is automatically added by pakajo via the shipping label). Shipments worth over CHF 350 Value: Form CN 23 in the pakajo dashboard (shipment order).

You can send private mail and parcels to Switzerland duty-free up to a value of CHF 100. Switzerland's import regulations for tobacco products provide for exceptions. In principle, alcohol may not be sent by post. The recipient must pay customs duties on packages that exceed the free limit. Make sure to fill out a customs declaration, as this is necessary for all shipments of goods to Switzerland.

HOW MUCH CUSTOMS DUTY DO I HAVE TO PAY WHEN SHIPPING TO THE SWITZERLAND?

Sending gifts to Switzerland is duty-free up to a value of CHF 65.00.

Goods with a European origin are imported into Switzerland duty-free; import sales taxes are currently 7.7% (reduced tax rate 2.5%).

With a non-European origin, customs fees apply; the standard rate is CHF 4.50 per kilo. This can vary depending on the product category. Swiss customs will provide you with detailed information.
